Rich is awesome... if you let it be

“Helloo… I am sorry????  Not everyone wants to be rich”

“I am happy being not rich. I have been taught to be kind…. So I cannot be rich”

“We don’t need rich now. We need peace.”

These were some of the comments I got for my earlier blog on what makes the rich, rich.

Very well then, why not have a sit down with the boss and explain you don’t need the annual bonus or increment, and that you would like peace instead. Anybody?

We have twisted thoughts about many things, money takes the cake.

I also grew up with a reasonable dose of Amitabh Bachan and Rajnikant moviesAmitabh-Bachchan. The hero is a poor labourer and the villain is a rich (usually ill-gotten) businessman. Our hero extols the virtues of being poor and righteous. He punishes the rich villain and later marries his daughter (and inherits the wealth).

I won’t blame anyone who says “Rich is bad”. I completely get where that comes from.

But dude, get real. Socialism is an outdated idea. USSR disintegrated 25 years ago. That’s a whole generation gone by. Now are the days of conscious capitalism.

There isn’t a situation in life I know, that was made worse by having more money. Rich is awesome.

Let me tell you what I mean when I say rich is awesome.

Having a lot of money gives you the opportunity to meaningfully help others. If you want to.

Having more money gives you a lot more freedom.

It gives you a lot less to worry about.

It allows you to do whatever you want to, with your time.

All of this if you permit yourself to.

Rich is really awesome…

Like T.Harv Eker says here “If you’re the kind of person that allows the best of a situation to emerge, without it coming from a place of fear, or entitlement, or lack, then yeah, being rich will be awesome…if you let it be!”

Having unhappy thoughts has nothing to do with how much money
you have. You can feel victimised and hence crib or feel entitled and hence crib. You can be good or bad, with or without money.

We worship Lakshmi as the goddess of wealth. We pray that she comes to our house and gives us prosperity. Our forefathers knew that money is something they definitely want and will pray to have it. Wonder how the script changed somewhere down the line?

The lifestyle that comes with being rich is something all of us want. But when we don’t know how to get there, we behave like the fox who says the grapes are sour.

Get rich people. One life and one chance to live it well. If you don’t know how to, seek it out. It is totally, totally worth it.
